On September 11, 2001, Americans around the world came face-to-face with the word terrorism. Not only Americans, but most of the world witnessed the outlandish attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. It was indeed a travesty and so many great and wonderful people lost their futures, their dreams...their lives. This event brought some of us to our knees not only for the lost lives but also for the unbelievable attack on our own soil. After the smoked died down, the American spirit stood taller than ever. We came together as a nation and showed that freedom cannot be taken. I am a US serviceman and I live by our creed everyday "...to defend the United States...". I will continue to follow my creed and all I ask is for our fellow Americans to remember the great servicemen and women in their prayers. We stand the line everyday staring terrorism in the face and that only makes us more proud to be Americans.
